ZUMBau GbR is a non-profit initiative of the leading associations of the construction industry (ZDB and HDB) providing direct support to construction companies. Its mission is to help construction companies comply with the requirements for operating mobile construction machinery set out in laws, regulations, technical rules and occupational health and safety provisions.
Services:
- Establishment of a nationwide standardised examination for construction machinery operators,
- Certification of examination centres according to the ZUMBau standard, where operator´s licenses can be obtained in 14 construction machinery categories,
- Nationwide central ZUMBau register for certified construction machinery operators,
- Quality assurance through regular external audits of examination centers,
- Participation of the Trade Association of the Construction Industry (BG BAU) in the examinations.
The sponsors of ZUMBau GbR are the German Construction Confederation (ZDB) and the Federation of the German Construction Industry (HDB), as well as – exclusively for the machine categories demolition excavator and long-front excavator – the German Demolition Association (DA).
