The umbrella organisations of the German construction industry - the Federation of the German Construction Industry (HDB) and the German Construction Confederation (ZDB) - in collaboration with the Trade Association of the Construction Industry (BG BAU), as the supporting organisation of ZUMBau, have been setting the following standards since 2006:

• Requirements for accreditation as approved examination centreaccreditation as approved examination centre;
• Determination of the examination level for qualification as “Certified construction machinery operator in the construction industry”;
• Uniform registration throughout Germany of “Certified construction machinery operator in the construction industry”.

All the approved examination centres are regularly audited by external experts according to a strict quality standard.
